Victorian Premier's Awards for Health and Medical Research 2016
(A joint initiative of the Victorian Government and
The Australian Society for Medical Research)

The Award recognises achievement by Victoria's
early career health and medical researchers.

Past winners have demonstrated the depth of talent in Victoria’s health and
medical research community through work in a variety of fields including muscular
dystrophy, organ transplants, tuberculosis, diabetes, cancer research,
cochlear implants and genetic research.

The Premier's Award for Health and Medical Research provides $40,000 in prize money:
$16,000 for the winner
$8,000 each for three commended applicants
Applications close 2pm Thursday the 10th of March 2016

ASMR Vic Student Symposium

A showcase symposium where all honours, graduate and post graduate health and medical
research students can participate
and/or present their work to an audience of their peers
All students will have the opportunity to network with and listen to some of Victoria’s top medical researchers in a friendly, approachable and cooperative scientific environment
ASMR will also waive membership fees for Undergraduate students (does not include honours students), who are encouraged to attend.

Participating students foster collaborations and network, increasing the awareness of the
expertise and research being conducted around Victoria.

Presentations are judged by a panel of senior academics and post-docs, with attractive
monetary prizes awarded for outstanding work
